los angeles has plenty of good, nay great ice cream. between the unbridled creativity of scoops and the decadent alchemy of pazzo gelato, my frozen dairy treat needs are pretty much met. throw in milk on beverly and carmela ice cream at various farmers’ markets, and we’re bordering on too much of a good thing.
yet…
yet there’s a new ice cream shop, humphry slocombe, whose menu is kind of blowing my mind. a few flavors for your consideration:
- blue bottle vietnamese coffee
- salt & pepper
- mcevoy olive oil
- pistachio bacon
- foie gras (!)
- “secret breakfast” - bourbon and corn flakes (pictured)
the bad news? it’s 380 miles away, in san francisco. but i’m thinking i might be overdue for a road trip.
ice cream, anyone?

this is all sorts of awesome, and is going on my “must try” list
